Physical Therapists are essentially “body mechanics”. We provide treatments to individuals to develop, maintain, and restore maximum movement and function throughout life stages. Following an evaluation, your physical therapist will use that information in addition to your past medical history, to generate a diagnosis, and establish a plan of care to meet your goals. The primary goal of physical therapy is always to maximize the quality of life for the individual. Areas of health promotion, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation will all be discussed.
Includes as deemed appropriate by your therapist:
- Complete review of systems
- Active and passive joint range of motion
- Accessory motion of joints
- Strength
- Overall flexibility
- Vital signs
- Balance
- Posture
- General health
- Gait and walking mechanics
- Soft tissue mobility
- Functional movements
- Special tests dictated by your condition
Option 1: Personalized Physical Therapy Initial Examination
You will join one of our physical therapists for a comprehensive physical examination.
Option 2: Executive Physical Therapy Initial Examination
If you are crunched most days of the week, or have multiple conditions you would like to address, this may be a preferable option. You will be assessed by two physical therapists during your initial examination and in most cases, will continue to see two or more of our clinicians in each of your visits. This is the quickest and most efficient road to recovery.
Scheduling: Your call will be answered by one of our therapists. Please share with them what is ailing you and how we can serve you best. This will better assist us in scheduling you with the most appropriate clinician. We strive to get you scheduled for your Initial Evaluation within 24 hours of your call.
Treatments
Physical therapy intervention is a combination of manual/hands on techniques, modalities, as well as prescribed exercises to promote expedited recovery.
Manual treatments are unique to the individual and their impairments. Manual techniques used may consist of one or many of the following:
- Soft Tissue Manipulation / Mobilization
- Myofascial Release
- Craniosacral Technique
- Strain-Counter Strain
- Graded Joint Mobilization
- Tender Point Release
- Muscle Energy Technique
In addition to taking a strong hands on approach to your rehabilitation, the following are other possible additions to your plan of care. Each of these modalities are regularly used to help reduce inflammation, pain, muscle guarding, and allow patients bodies to relax and heal.
- Trigger Point Dry Needling
- Performance Taping
- Cold Packs
- Electrical Stimulation (TENS)
You will be fully educated on why each respective technique was used with you, and how it is going to assist in achieving our goals.
Duration of Therapy
Because each individuals’ case is different, it is impossible to predict the exact number of sessions needed to reach your personalized goals. Most patients typically see improvement in symptoms after 6-8 sessions or about a 3-4 week time period. Many will have drastic improvements in their first week. Your experience in physical therapy serves to build a personalized plan for long-term management of your condition and prevent the need for continued care. You will be empowered with the knowledge and skills needed to help you stay mobile, healthy and active for as long as you choose.
Please Note: patients will be provided with forms necessary to seek reimbursement from their insurance carriers. We recommended you utilize our insurance worksheet, and contact them prior to beginning therapy to be aware of your out-of-network benefits.
